Suppository Application
How to insert your Bonner Natural Health suppository
This guide walks you through the process simply and clearly. The suppository is inserted rectally, which is the delivery method that gives the highest bioavailability โ€” meaning the most of the formulation reaches your system. The process takes less than two minutes and becomes completely routine within a few days. Keep this sheet to hand when you begin.
Before you begin
๐Ÿงค
Gloves
Have a disposable surgical glove ready. A box of 100 nitrile gloves from Amazon costs around $10 and will last the full protocol.
โ„๏ธ
Storage
Suppositories must be stored in the refrigerator at all times to maintain their form. Remove only the one you are about to use.

Timing
Wait approximately 20 minutes after your first bowel movement of the morning before inserting. This allows comfortable retention.
Step by step
1
Wash your hands thoroughly
Wash with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds before you begin. This is the most important hygiene step.
2
Put on your glove
Pull a single disposable glove onto your dominant hand โ€” the hand you will use to insert the suppository.
3
Remove the suppository from its packaging
Peel back the foil or plastic packaging carefully. The suppository will be firm from refrigeration. Hold it at the wider base end.
If it feels too firm, hold it in your gloved hand for 30 seconds to warm it slightly โ€” never leave it at room temperature for longer than a minute or two.
4
Find a comfortable position
Lie on your side with your knees gently drawn up toward your chest. Alternatively, stand with one foot raised on the edge of the bath or toilet seat. Both positions work well โ€” use whichever feels most natural.
5
Insert gently with your forefinger
With your gloved forefinger, gently guide the pointed or tapered end of the suppository into the rectum. Insert it just past the sphincter muscle โ€” approximately one inch for adults. Once past the sphincter, no further insertion is needed. The sphincter will naturally hold it in place.
The sphincter is the ring of muscle you can feel at the entrance. Once the suppository passes just beyond it, stop โ€” you will feel a natural resistance ease and then hold.
6
Remove the glove and dispose
Peel the glove off by turning it inside out as you remove it, enclosing any contact. Dispose of it immediately. Wash your hands again with soap and warm water.
7
Rest for at least 20 minutes
Remain lying down or seated quietly for a minimum of 20 minutes. This allows the suppository to melt naturally at body temperature and the formulation to absorb fully through the rectal tissue into your system. Avoid any further bowel movement during this time.
Many people do this step as part of their morning routine โ€” lying quietly, listening to something, or practising their five minutes of reflection before starting the day.
What to expect
How it absorbs
The suppository melts within the body at body temperature and is absorbed through the rectal mucosa โ€” the rich network of blood vessels lining the rectal wall. Distribution throughout the body begins within 15 to 20 minutes. The formulation bypasses the liver's first-pass metabolism, which is why bioavailability is so significantly higher than oral products.
What you may feel
Most people feel nothing at all during or after insertion. You may notice a gentle warmth in the area as the suppository melts โ€” this is entirely normal. Within the first week or two you may begin noticing subtle shifts in energy, sleep quality, or the areas you are most focused on. These are signs the formulation is beginning to work.
Important notes
Tip
If the suppository comes out before 20 minutes
This can happen occasionally, particularly in the first few days. Do not re-insert the same suppository. Simply note it and continue with your regular schedule the following morning. It takes a short time for the body to adjust to the routine.
Note
Adjustment period
In the first one to three weeks, some people notice temporary changes in energy, digestion, or a mild flu-like feeling. This is a sign the formulation is beginning its work and passes relatively quickly. If anything feels more than mild or persists longer than a few days, contact me at 415 515 1665 or barry@bonnerbiotech.com straight away.
